Sponsored by the Thingujam (O) Nganbi Devi Memorial Trust, the event aimed to promote sportsmanship and youth engagement.<br \/>\nIn the final match, SWC-A defeated MMC, Mongkhanglambi by a narrow 1\u20130 margin to clinch the championship title.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-111347\" src=\"https:\/\/jdnewsvision.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/IMG-20260405-WA0209-300x173.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"173\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jdnewsvision.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/IMG-20260405-WA0209-300x173.jpg 300w, https:\/\/jdnewsvision.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/IMG-20260405-WA0209-1024x589.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/jdnewsvision.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/IMG-20260405-WA0209-768x442.jpg 768w, https:\/\/jdnewsvision.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/IMG-20260405-WA0209.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Attending the closing ceremony as chief guest, RK Meghan, also known as Sanayaima, highlighted the importance of sports, stating that games play a crucial role not only in physical development but also in building discipline, character and mental strength among the youth. He noted that sportspersons represent the identity and pride of the state while promoting unity and social responsibility.<br \/>\nSocial scientist Dhanabir Laishram underscored Manipur\u2019s strong sporting culture and called for greater efforts to identify and nurture young talent. He also expressed concern over the shrinking availability of playgrounds and the gradual decline of full-format football matches.<br \/>\nThingujam Oxford stressed the importance of teamwork and leadership in sports, while N Phillip remarked that football and other popular games have significantly contributed to strengthening Manipur\u2019s identity and fostering unity among communities.<br \/>\nSWC president A Birendra lauded the successful organisation of the tournament and its role in encouraging young players.<br \/>\nThe event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony. The champions were awarded Rs. 50,000, while the runners-up received Rs. 30,000. The third and fourth place teams were awarded Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 5,000 respectively.
