The Raj Bhavan campaign was held on Wednesday demanding the use of Roman letters in the Kakbarak language. Tipra Students Federation (TSF) led the Raj Bhavan campaign. The members of the organization marched from the Radhanagar area of Agartala in the capital and left for the Raj Bhavan. But the procession was stopped by the police at the circuit house area.
In this regard, an agitator said that since 1968, TYF has been demanding the use of Roman letters in the Kakbarak language for the sake of the people of Tripura. But the government is not paying attention to fulfill the demand. As a result, there is a movement on that demand.
The organization warned that the movement will continue until the government does not meet the demand of using Roman alphabet in Kakbarak language.
Keeping the same demand in front, Tipra Women’s Federation participated in the Raj Bhavan campaign on Saturday. Their campaign started from Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Radhanagar area. The police stopped the procession in the middle.
