Lucknow, 05 July : : -A Five Day International Faculty Development Programme on “Sustainable Engineering Practices – Challenges and Mitigation” inaugurated today at Civil engineering department, Amity University, Lucknow campus.
The FDP is supported by The European Union under the Erasmus+ credit mobility programme.
Eminent faculty members from Dicle University, Turkey Dr. Beyhan Ipekyuz, Dr. Gulay Yalcin, Dr. Ferat Kaya and Fidan Dogan, Deputy Pro VC Amity University Lucknow Wing Commander Dr. Anil Tiwari, Officiating Director, Amity School of Engineering and Technology Prof (Dr) OP Singh and Dean Academics Prof (Dr) Rajesh Tiwari inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Dr Diyva Srivastava, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering introduced the aims and objectives of the FDP.
The delegates were welcomed by Prof (Dr) OP Singh. Speaking at the inaugural session, Wg Cdr (Dr) Anil Kumar, explained the significance of sustainable engineering in todays world. Prof (Dr) Rajesh Tiwari exalted the delegates to deliberate on the important topic of Intellectual Property Rights also.
Addressing the inaugural session Keynote speaker Dr Sudhakar Shukla from Remote Sensing Application Centre explained the importance of remote sensing and its applications, especially in civil engineering.
Prof Vibhuti Rai from the Deptt of Geology, Lucknow University gave a spellbinding talk on water resources and their conservation. In the coming days, the FDP will also be addressed by many eminent speakers including Prof (Dr) Khalid Mohammed from Sunway University, Malaysia.
