The meeting of the Executive Council of the Indian Journalists Association concluded in Calicut….

Kozhikode: (Bureau Office) The Executive Council meeting of the Indian Journalists Association of Kerala concluded today in Kozhikode district, Kerala. Kozhikode Mayor O. Sadasivan was the chief guest at the inaugural session of the three-day meeting, and MP M.K. Raghavan was the special guest. In his address, Sadasivan said that a Journalists’ Protection Act should be enacted for journalists.

Additionally, new schemes should be implemented for the welfare of journalists. He highlighted several aspects of the journalism world. Discussing the importance of social media, MP Raghavan said that social media has become widespread today, but its credibility must be maintained.


He also emphasized the importance of welfare schemes for journalists. Representatives from nearly every state in the country attended the event. Officials from the Nepal Journalists Association also participated. Presiding over the second session, National President Geetarth Pathak discussed the problems faced by journalists.

He cited numerous incidents in which journalists were harassed. Sabina Indrajit, National General Secretary and an official of the International Federation of Journalists, highlighted the organization’s work. Citing numerous incidents, she expressed concern about the current situation of journalists.

Several officials from Uttar Pradesh, including Chandra Prakash Shukla and R.D. Bajpai, participated under the leadership of National Secretary Dr. Shailesh Kumar Pandey. In his address, National Secretary Dr. Shailesh Kumar Pandey said that in today’s times, only organized journalists can protect their interests. Journalists must organize to protect their interests. Corporate culture has made the service conditions so difficult that journalists live under stress.

In the second session of the second day, representatives from states across the country discussed the situation in their respective states. The general secretaries of each state presented their reports to the organization’s executive council on the situation of journalists in their respective states.

Problems in the states where they existed were discussed and a resolution was reached. International Federation of Journalists official Sabina Indrajit also discussed the IFJ elections. On the third day of the session, an informal meeting was held, in which all officials participated enthusiastically.

Following the meeting, mementos and certificates of honor were presented to journalists from across the country. The delegates thanked the officials of the Kerala Journalists’ Union for organizing the Executive Council meeting. It is worth noting that the Indian Journalists’ Union is one of the oldest organizations in the country and is affiliated with the International Federation of Journalists.
